Located in one of New England's finest parks, the Garden House stands on the
site of the former Look Park pool building, a nostalgic Northampton landmark built
in 1930. The restoration of the building, now unsurpassed in comfort and convenience,
keeps faith with the Mission style architecture of the earlier period.
The interior speaks of simple country elegance, featuring a large stone fireplace
and mahogany paneled walls decorated with hand-crafted botanical stencils. The
enclosed sunporch offers a lovely view of some of the park's many attractions,
and is accented with tasteful wrought iron accessories, opalesque wall sconces,
and awnings reminiscent of earlier days at the pool building.
The capacity of the Garden House allows for 170 people to be comfortably seated
at our 5 foot round tables with chairs including space for our 15 X18 dance floor.
The Garden House is both carpeted and air-conditioned. Two complete bars (one
opens to the sunporch) and a state-of the-art caterer's kitchen significantly
contribute to many community uses for this facility.
A tent is available for larger functions from May through October in the adjacent
courtyard and sitting wall area. This can be rented to accommodate an additional
200 people, bringing the combined seating capacity for the premises to 375.
